They are going to take the next step next episode.
They are going to kiss, to hug, to say they want this, together, because everything is falling apart and she wants him at his side
Don’t touch me
THE WAY SHE LOOKS AT HIM
THE WAY HE LOOKS AT HER
THIS IS WHY I SHIP THEM SO HARD
FOR THOSE FUCKING LOOKS
We all know what it really boils down to ;)
Seriously I didn’t think I could ship Captain Swan more or think they were more perfect for each other but after this episode it’s crystal clear that they aren’t only perfect for each other but they really need each other. Everything in this episode pointed towards Captain Swan. It wasn’t just a coincidence that they were both totally miserable without each other in this episode. I mean Tink said it best when she was talking to Regina about her selfishness. By running away she not only did she lose her chance to be happy but she took away his chance to be truly happy too.
The whole episode seemed to me to point out that Emma’s life is going to be like Snow and Charming’s. Ever since Snowing met they have been on a world wind of adventures and battles but no matter what at the end of the day they always find each other, and they have their battles but they also have their “moments”.
Emma is the savoir and she is right about her future. Her life isn’t going to get easier, she’s not going to have the luxury of leading a quiet normal life. There is always going to be something she’s going to have to deal with or danger she is going to have to protect people from. She knows it and at the end of the episode has pretty much accepted it.
Now I expect that Neal isn’t done fighting for Emma but I also feel like he doesn’t understand her baggage. I think he believes that once he’s fought for her and won her over, they will get that calm life and finally be a family. They will have that normal life, without danger, without magic, and without everything he tried to run away from when he was a kid. I know Neal loved Emma and I am not saying he doesn’t now but I also think Emma isn’t really who Neal wants. Not Emma the savoir, not Emma the one who isn’t ever going to have a day off, not the woman Emma is. Everything that we’ve seen about Bae and Neal is that he wants to live a simple life, he wants a normal honest job, a wife and kids, and a family. The honest truth is that life just isn’t in the cards for Emma Swan. He had that chance, at least, he had 10 years to live out his dream life with Emma in Tallahassee and now it’s too late. Emma has a responsibility now and if Neal wants to be with her, he is going to have to fight for her every god damn day for the rest of his life. Even though Emma has realized this, I’m pretty sure Neal hasn’t and when he does I don’t think he’ll stick around and I don’t think that will make him a jerk or a horrible person. I think Neal should be able to be happy and get what he wants. I just don’t think Emma is what he truly wants or what he’s been searching for his whole life. He should get what he wants. He deserves to be happy and find his Tallahassee, and I don’t think his Tallahassee is with Emma.
Ok but enough about Neal, let’s talk about Hook. Hook didn’t meet Emma before she was the savoir. She was already carrying that burden when she met him. Hook fell in love with her knowing full well who she was: a fighter, an orphan, a tough lass. I think his words tonight were insanely significant and important. He said he was in it for the “long haul.” There is a double meaning here. Not only does it mean that he is interested in having a serious and real relationship with Emma but he is well aware that being with her isn’t going to be some picket fence fairytale. Hook knows that Emma is in a perpetually state of getting ready for a fight, as we saw in the first episode of this season. He knows what he’s getting into and he is willing to fight for her and be by her side every single day.
On another note, this whole episode was about small shared moments, and anyone who thinks that all of those small shared moments between Hook and Emma that we as crazed CSers gifed and reblogged every episode weren’t being hinted at by this emphasis, are clearly delusional. Because amidst the danger, the worry, and the chaos, Hook was there next to Emma: sharing his rum, making her smile, uplifting her spirits, building her confidence, and making her feel good. He has that ability to create moments where she can forget that she is the savoir and what she has to do and just let her relax and be herself. Every single small moment we saw between them in Neverland was significant because it points out that even if Emma’s life is going to be a never ending roller coaster of fights and danger, Hook is capable of sticking by her side and effortlessly giving Emma some “good moments.” He has been a reminder to her that she can take a moment to smile or a moment to let go and feel good - take 14 seconds and get completely lost in an incredibly hot kiss.
Emma thinks she can’t have a happy ending because she is the savoir and that she carries that burden alone but what she doesn’t realize is that Hook has already shown that he can and will share that burden with her even if it means that the good moments will be hard to come by and he’ll have to fight for her every day for the rest of his life because before he met her all he had was his revenge and death to look forward to but she opened his eyes to idea that he might have lived all these years for something better, a chance to be a hero and to love again.
*cough* CAPTAIN SWAN KISS *cough*
BUT DON’T PROMOTE IT SO WE CAN ALL DIE A HAPPY DEATH AND HAVE A SURPRISE CAN WE GET THAT
Emma: “Wait. We’re you two…”
